Glam Polish Over the Rainbow Flakies (Part 1) - Swatches & Review

Thursday, February 05, 2015
Hi everyone!

The Over the Rainbow (special limited edition) Collection by Glam Polish was just released yesterday, and I have the first part of the series to share with you all today.

The collection was named after Hawaiian Musician Israel Kamakawiwo’ole’s remake of the song “Over the Rainbow”, and the collection was inspired by beautiful Hawaiian words, locations, and nature.  Each shade features shifting flakies, glass flecks, shimmer, and holographic pigment.

Nalu (Surf) is a deep blue subtle holo with green / teal iridecent flakies, and deep blue, turquoise, & bright blue glass flecks.  This one just glows!  The green flakies are the most apparent, but as you shift your hands you really see it sparkle.  It’s quite a vivid blue too, which is just beautiful.  I’m wearing two coats plus top coat in the photos.

Leilani (Heavenly Flower) is a subtle holo with indigo / teal iridescent flakies, and deep blue & magenta glass flecks.  I absolutely love this one.  It’s quite a red toned purple, especially on the first coat, and the flakies and holo definitely pop the most in this one.  It’s so unique, and so perfect.  I’m wearing two coats plus top coat in the photos.

Ohana (Family) is a dark cherry red subtle holo with red / yellow iridescent flakies, and pink & gold glass flecks.  I always lean towards a gorgeous red polish, and this one is amazing.  The flakies blend in a bit more color-wise, but really shine and sparkle as you move your hands.  They look like they’re just floating around in the beautiful jelly base.  The holo seemed a bit stronger in this one as well, possibly because of the deeper color.  I’m wearing two coats plus top coat in the photos.

Hibiscus is bright coral subtle holo with rainbow iridescent flakies, and red, peach, & gold glass flecks. The flakies are insane in this one!  They really do shift a rainbow of colors, and this one is much more amazing in person than I could capture in photos.  It’s the perfect bright coral, so summery, and I totally get the hawaiian influence here.  It was a tiny bit more sheer, so I went with three thin coats plus top coat for the photos.

Moloka’i is a bright green subtle holo base with green / yellow iridescent flakies, and yellow & turquoise glass flecks.  Such a gorgeous, summery green.  The yellow really pops from the green base, and if you’re a lover of green this is a must have.  It was also slightly more sheer than the others, so I’m wearing three thin coats plus top coat in the photos.
