ALIQUID Lacquer Angel In Hell Collection + Lip Balm - Swatches & Review

Friday, February 06, 2015
Hello everyone!

I have another new to me brand to share with you all today; ALIQUID Lacquer.  I received the Angel In Hell Collection a while back, and I know I’m super late to post them, but they really are lovely polishes for any time of the year.  The collection consists of a great range of polishes, holo, shimmers, and glitters, inspired by The Phantom of the Opera novel and musical.

Corpse de Ballet is a ballerina pink shade packed with white & black / purple flecks, and green shimmer.  The pink base is so perfect.  It’s quite a neutral pink, so I found it to be really flattering, and the flecks and shimmer make it really special.  I’m wearing two coats plus top coat in the photos.

The Skeleton’s Ring is an ivory creme with gold flecks and green shimmer.  The gold flakes really compliment the lovely ivory base, and the green shimmer really works in combination.  I was surprised the formula was so great for a light shade as well.  There’s still a tiny bit of visible nail line, but it wasn’t streaky at all which is always great.  I’m wearing two coats plus top coat in the photos.

Forever and a Day is a muted teal-grey shade with green, purple, and iridesent flecks, and reddish shimmer.  I really love this one, and it’s totally unique to anything I have.  The flecks and shimmer really shine through the base, which is a perfect mix of teal and grey.  I’m wearing two coats plus top coat in the photos.

Unending Night is a blackened blue-purple linear holo with copper and red shimmer, (I also notice a really nice red-plum tone).  Another perfect and totally unique shade.  The base is slightly more jelly than the others, but it covered well, and the holographic effect is strong.  The specks of shimmer are so pretty too!  I’m wearing two coats in the photos.

Maze of Mirrors is described as a full coverage glitter with silver holo, black, and blue iridescent glitter, silver flakies, and blue shimmer.  The first time I swatched this one, it was opaque in three thin coats alone, but it wouldn’t photograph very well for me (it’s really pretty and sparkly in person though).  I ended up swatching it a few times and settled on one coat layered over Unending Night.  I actually really like the combination, and it still allows the holo to shine through, so this is a very versatile glitter.  The application was nice and smooth as well, without any difficulty getting the glitter out of the bottle.

Red Death is a blackened rust jelly with red, silver,  lime green & yellow glitter, and dark red shimmer.  There’s a lot of different sized glitter in this one, and it’s super sparkly in person.  Application was super easy too, I had no trouble getting the various glitters on my nails, but I did need a few coats of top coat to smooth it out (that’s pretty typical though).  I’m wearing two coats plus top coat in the photos.

In addition to the Angel In Hell Collection, I also had a chance to try one of the lip balms from ALIQUID Lacquer.  I was sent the “pumpkin cheesecake” lip balm, and absolutely loved it.  There’s a really great list of natural ingredients (which you can view below), plus the scent is awesome.  I don’t get that much pumpkin from it, but there’s a really nice & sweet cinnamon-y scent, and the lip balm is very moisturizing.

The Angel In Hell Collection is available through the ALIQUID Lacquer shop.  Each polish retails for $11.00 (full size) or $5.00 (mini).

My picks are definitely Unending Night, Forever and a Day, and my surprise favorite, Corpse de Ballet.

I hope you all enjoyed the post, and thank you for reading! :)
