OPI Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 Collection Nail Art

Monday, January 13, 2014
Hello everyone!

My prize from the Nail Polish Canada Holiday Nail Art Challenge arrived last week, and I am still amazed by it all.  Thank you so much to those of you who voted for me throughout the challenge, it made my Christmas and birthday absolutely amazing, and I can't thank you all enough! <3

I received some duplicates, so I made sure to set aside a few things from my prize to add to a giveaway I've been planning for a while now.  You should be hearing about it very soon! :)

There were 12 beautiful polishes from the OPI Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 Collection in the grand prize, which I had been dying to get my hands on, so I wanted to use as many as I could at one time.  I went with a mix & match featuring one of my favorites from the collection, Cute Little Vixen.

I started with my index nail, applying two coats of My Favorite Ornament, a lovely antique gold flake glitter with a slight texture (I did not apply top coat).  My middle nail is one coat of Ski Slope Sweetie, which I made matte, then over it I created some angular shapes with the brush of Cute Little Vixen (not tape).  On my ring nail, I have added a few of the circle glitters from I Snow You Love Me on top of two coats of Cute Little Vixen to resemble polka dots, similar to what I created here.

This is always one of my favorite color combinations to wear (if you couldn't already tell from previous posts), and I was a bit sad to remove them!

Let me know what you think of them, or what you would like to see on Lacquerstyle next, and thank you so much for reading! :)

  4. Wow. I've seen a lot of cool manicures that use tape to do what you did on your middle but this may take the cake. I can't believe you did that free handed with a brush! Definitely on my copycat list but with tape for me haha. You make me want Ski Slope Sweetie. It's beautiful matte. Love the whole look!

  5. Saw a swatch from ski slope sweety and totally love it. I blame you for gingerbread that I had to buy (absolutely no regrets!) but now I have the same with my favorite ornament. Have you seen the Gwen Stefanie collection?

    1. I’m glad you love Gingerbread! My Favorite Ornament is beautiful in person. I swear it has a bit of “sand” in it, but it’s not labeled a liquid sand polish so I can’t be sure, but it’s lovely! I saw the new collection and I’m not too impressed. They don’t look like anything special, to me. The only one I would consider getting is Love Angel Music Baby (the gold one); it looks really beautiful, and I love that “satin” finish. What do you think of it? :)

    2. haha, always gold. I tought the same. Pink is always a good thing but not very special. Most people like the silver but it lasts only 1 day. So it leaves me to gold but I'll pass. What do you think of Material Girl and Full Spectrum?

    3. Yes, pink is always good, I agree. I just feel like I have way too many similar ones to justify another in my collection :P .. I think you must be talking about China Glaze Material Girl and Full Spectrum? If so, I really like Material Girl, that whole collection is really beautiful and the glitters have such nice formulas. Full Spectrum is just ok to me .. I wasn’t a big fan of the prismatic collection to be honest, I found them quite hard to wear for some reason. I think CG does some really amazing glitters in general though! :)
