#WNAC2015 - June / Patterns: Roundup

Monday, June 29, 2015
Hello everyone!

I can't believe June is almost over already, crazy!  Since it's the end of the month however, I have my nail art roundup to share with you from our #WNAC2015 (Weekly Nail Art Challenge). :)

The overall theme for the month was "Patterns", so we had to incorporate a different pattern into the prompts each week, which was quite fun.  I think you all know I love my patterns, and I was definitely in a floral mood!

First up we had a "coral" prompt.  I had just received a lovely new collection of colors from Cult Cosmetics, and they were giving me a nautical vibe, so that's what I went with.  I started with an off-white base, paired with the lovely coral (which really is the perfect coral), and then added a bit of blue chrome.  I loved the combination.

Polishes used: Cult Cosmetics Seal Beach (base), Cult Cosmetics Newport Beach (coral), and Cult Cosmetics Silver Lake (blue chrome).  Tools: 18/0 Spotter by Artist's Loft & 10/0 Script by Artist's Loft (Michael's)

Next, we had to create "holo" themed nails.  One of my best friends Tracey (from Missbellatracey) and I decided to create another #bestietwinnails.  It always takes us forever to come up with an idea, but we usually end up with a masterpiece .. Or at least we think so, haha!  This time, we decided to go with a nude to white vertical gradient and top it with a scattered holo topper, then freehand some flowers on top.  I absolutely loved wearing these!

Polishes used: OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons, China Glaze White On White, INM Northern Lights Silver Top Coat, and Color Club Beyond.  Tools: 18/0 Spotter by Artist's Loft (Michael's)

The third prompt was "turquoise" which I was pretty excited for since I really don't use this color enough, at all!  I also had the perfect one staring at me daily on my desk begging to be used, so I knew what I was doing right away.  I just started painting lines as usual, and then I had originally planned some sort of baroque / damask design, but for some reason it ended up being another floral, but I was really happy with them.

Polishes used: China Glaze White On White, China Glaze Too Yacht to Handle, Nubar Black Nail Art Polish.  Tools: 18/0 Spotter by Artist's Loft & 10/0 Script by Artist's Loft (Michael's)

The final prompt of the month was "glitter".  This was an interesting one for me, since I was really uninspired.  I tried several designs, but nothing was really working for me.  I ended up looking through the polishes I've never used and chose this stunning glitter (which I can't believe I had never used now!).  It's the loveliest mixture of purple microglitter and extremely dense, so it just required two easy coats.  I almost didn't want to cover it!

That said, it inspired me to create another floral of course, but this time I went with an abstract flower on each nail (I have been sort of addicted to drawing something similar in my sketchbook recently).

Polishes used: China Glaze Put A Bow On It, Color Club (I apologize, I don't really know what this one is called - it could be Magic Attraction, or Sugarplum Fairy, but it's absolutely gorgeous too!).  Tools: 10/0 Script by Artist's Loft (Michael's)

I hope you all enjoyed these designs.  I really enjoyed wearing them!  The #WNAC2015 (Weekly Nail Art Challenge) for July has just been released as well, and should be an interesting one as the theme is Gradients!

  3. I love the vertical holo gradient (I remember seeing Tracy's a few weeks ago and hers was lovely too!) Oh and the stamping over glitter is fabulous. It was worth waiting for the inspiration to strike!

    1. ... I've just re-read your post and realised it's not stamping, it's free-hand of course! It makes it even more amazing! :)
