#WNAC2015 - June / Patterns: Roundup

Monday, June 29, 2015
Hello everyone!

I can't believe June is almost over already, crazy!  Since it's the end of the month however, I have my nail art roundup to share with you from our #WNAC2015 (Weekly Nail Art Challenge). :)

The overall theme for the month was "Patterns", so we had to incorporate a different pattern into the prompts each week, which was quite fun.  I think you all know I love my patterns, and I was definitely in a floral mood!

#WNAC2015 - April / Pastel: Spring Floral Nails

Tuesday, April 28, 2015
Hi everyone!

I have the last design that I created for the Weekly Nail Art Challenge (#WNAC2015) to share with you all today.

The theme for the month was Pastel, and so perfect for Spring of course!  If you missed the first three posts (Simple, Ikat, & Chevron), you can view them here, here, & here.  And, you can find the challenge photo for May at the bottom of the post, if you're interested (hint: neons!)!

For the final prompt, Floral, I really wanted to create a new [intense] floral print like some I've done in the past (remember those Gradient Floral Nails (+ Tutorial)?), but of course it always has to be a bit unique ...

#WNAC2015 - April / Pastel: Chevron Floral Nails

Monday, April 27, 2015
Hi everyone!

Hope you all had a great weekend.  I'm catching up on my last two #WNAC2015 posts for April, so you'll see two today, and they're both floral related!

For the Chevron prompt, I found this amazing pattern on Pinterest which combined chevron and florals, so I couldn't resist creating it on my nails.

Summer Pastel Floral Nails

Saturday, August 09, 2014
Hello everyone!

This post is going up at a pretty random time, but I'll explain the reason down below.  Anyways, I thought I would point a few things out first, one being that you may notice a change in appearance on the blog.  This past week, I've been completely re-designing it, and I've basically started from scratch doing all the coding myself.  It's not 100% complete, so you might notice a few more changes as the week goes on, but I'm pretty happy with the way it's going so far.  Let me know what you all think though!  Any ideas for a header??

Now onto what I'm really here to show you all today.  I created a new set of floral nails after seeing this really beautiful photo in my google searches.  It was a really lovely floral print in mostly pastels, but has several pops of brighter colors.  It has a sort of romantic, watercolor look to the photo with an amazing multicolored background, so that really spoke to me.  I just loved the combination so much, that I had to recreate them for the Nail Polish Canada Summer 2014 Nail Art Challenge.

Of course, the theme is "Summer", and for me, I just love to wear floral prints in the Spring and Summer, so I thought they would be perfect for the challenge.  I only have a few hours left to submit them, so that's why this post is going up this late!

I used several different polishes for the design, mostly pastels by Essie, including the gorgeous Urban Jungle as my base (pictured), and Fashion Underground, Under Where?, Blanc, and Tart Deco are in there somewhere too.  I might update with a full list later, but if you would like to know any specifics, don't be afraid to ask me in the comments below. :)

I hope you all love them!  And, if you would like to vote for me in the challenge, head over to the Nail Polish Canada page, and select "lacquerstyle.com" from the list (you don't have to be signed up or anything).  I would really appreciate it!

Thank you so much for reading, if you made it this far, too! :)

31 Day Challenge - Day 14: Fall Florals + Tutorial!

Tuesday, September 24, 2013
Ok, so I may have failed the #31DC2013, but I figured I would still post the last nails I created for the challenge (I know I'm like 10 days late, sorry!).  They were for Day 14: Flowers.

I was actually inspired to create these floral nails after I found a random print on google.  I really liked the color combination, especially for fall, so I tried to get it as close as possible.  I'm not exactly happy with them, but I spent so much time on them that it would've been silly not to post them.

Polishes used: Deborah Lippman Human Nature, OPI Ate Berries In the Canaries, Ciate Kiss Chase, Essie Like to Be Bad, Essie Meet Me At Sunset, and Lime Crime Once In a Blue Mousse.

Update: I finally got a tutorial up on YouTube. Enjoy!

Thank you for reading!

Floral Nails, Glitter Placement and Born Pretty Store Review!

Thursday, June 13, 2013
Hello! :)

My most recent design is another floral print (you can view my previous florals on my Instagram, which is also in the sidebar).  I have really been into florals lately.  They always look so beautiful and complicated, and I won't lie, it's pretty funny when people ask you if your nails are stickers or stencils!  My new set of nail art brushes from Born Pretty Store, are what I have used to create this look:

For the past few months, I have just been using the same tiny old paintbrush (yes, just one!) from my kit when I was taking art in high school.  So, I knew it was about time I get myself a fresh set of real nail art brushes!  While I was at it, I picked up some multicolored loose glitter as well, and I am addicted!

I'll have a bonus glitter mani at the end of this post, but for now here's what my order consisted of from the lovely Born Pretty Store:

Look at the gorgeous colors!

The brushes are really great!  I used all four to create my floral print, and it was so nice to have a selection of sizes so I could use one for each color on my nails.  They are perfect for fine details like the small flowers and dots in the center of the flowers.

Here's what one of the brushes looks like compared to my nail.  See how small it is?

These are the polishes I used to get this look:

Butter London Billy No Mates and Stag Do, Essie Instant Hot (on the accent nail) and Blanc, and Misa Great Grape and Lime Love.

And here's a little bonus glitter placement:

The base is Essie The Girl's Are Out.

It's so fun placing the individual glitters in different shapes or patterns, and it's not a pain to remove after a few days.  You will definitely see some more glitter placement nails from me soon!

If you would like to order from Born Pretty Store, (their prices are great, and it's free worldwide shipping!) you can use this coupon for 10% off your order:

Have a lovely day! :)
