#WNAC2015 - April / Pastel: Spring Floral Nails

Tuesday, April 28, 2015
Hi everyone!

I have the last design that I created for the Weekly Nail Art Challenge (#WNAC2015) to share with you all today.

The theme for the month was Pastel, and so perfect for Spring of course!  If you missed the first three posts (Simple, Ikat, & Chevron), you can view them here, here, & here.  And, you can find the challenge photo for May at the bottom of the post, if you're interested (hint: neons!)!

For the final prompt, Floral, I really wanted to create a new [intense] floral print like some I've done in the past (remember those Gradient Floral Nails (+ Tutorial)?), but of course it always has to be a bit unique ...

I started out with two coats of the prettiest, palest blue, Essie Find Me An Oasis, then added a very simple white pattern all over the nails.  They're just little dots and leaves, but it looked so cute I had to show you them alone too.

Once the first pattern was complete, I started on the real floral print which I used 8 or 9 different polishes to paint.  Most of you who frequent my posts or follow me on Instagram probably know that I paint with only nail polish (not acrylic paints), so you can see all the polishes I used below.

I painted a few different shades of roses, some peachy ones, burgundy ones, and a brighter plum variation, then added touches of green for the leaves.  I used only one brush for the design, a size "18/0 Spotter" by Artist's Loft from Michael's.

They definitely took a while to paint, but I always feel so happy with floral nails once they're finished, so I wouldn't have it any other way!

I really hope you all like these as much as I do.  I'm still wearing them, trying to keep them on as long as possible, haha.

Finally, for May, our Weekly Nail Art Challenge theme is Neon!  If you'd like to join in, make sure you use the hashtag #WNAC2015 on your social media accounts, and repost the photo below if you'd like!  I can wait to see the amazing neon designs everyone comes up with!

    4. Sadly, probably not :( .. I tried to film them several times, and they just didn't turn out well at all since I film at such an awkward angle. Sorry! :(

  7. Oh that's sooo pretty! I love it ... I always enjoy seeing your floral nails and I'm stunned (again) at how detailed your nail art is! I like how you combined two different patterns ... the base pattern is perhaps just within my reach! I will have to try that. Thanks for the inspiration. :)

  8. I love the round shape of your nails. Much better than the straight in the old posts. You clean your polish perfectly, make a great manicure, congrats. Essie is my favorite! Following you for now on.
